Pakistan’s engineering products need
promotion in international market: Wajid
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to UK Mr. Wajid Shamsul Hasan has emphasized for
exploring more venues in the international market for the fast growing
engineering industry of Pakistan.
He was visiting stalls of engineering companies of Pakistan
at the Subcon show being held at National Exhibition
Centre in Birmingham,
today.
Subcon is considered as biggest
subcontracting event in the UK.
After having a detailed look at the Precision Engineering Equipment from Pakistan the High Commissioner said that it was
encouraging to see that Pakistan
has achieved a very high level of sophistication in this field which calls for
exploring more markets for these products. Precision equipment is used in
automobile industry including tractors and trucks.
Mr. Hasan also emphasised for developing more linkages for
the absorption of value added products from Pakistan in the international
market rather than banking on traditional products only.
Ten companies were selected by Trade Development Authority
of Pakistan to participate in the event but representatives of only five
companies were granted visas. Pakistan
will take up the issue, in the policy paper, for visa facilitation to business
entrepreneurs for participation in events taking place in UK.
