Congratulates James Shera on Naming of Road on His Name
Pakistan High Commissioner to UK,
Mr. Wajid Shamsul Hasan has felicitated Mr. James Shera on being honoured by
the Rugby Borough as the Council’s Cabinet endorsed yesterday, the proposal of Warwickshire College
to name the road leading to the newly built Rugby College
as James Shera Way.
The College has been built with the cost of £ 38 million.
The High Commissioner said that it
was a matter of great honour and pride, not only for Mr. James Shera but for
every Pakistani as the services of Mr. Shera have been recognized and
acknowledged by the people of Rugby and
Warwickshire College Board.
The High Commissioner further said
that Mr. Shera serves as a role model to younger Pakistani generation as he has
contributed positively towards the society particularly in the field of
education.
Mr. Shera is a board member of the
Warwickshire College and leader of the opposition on
the Rugby Borough Council. James Shera was elected Mayor of Rugby in 1988 and
since 1981 he remains elected member of council. He was awarded Star of
Pakistan 1991 by the President of Pakistan and MBE in 2007 by Her
Majesty the Queen.
