Pakistan’s garment
industry has huge potential to excel: Neelam
Working along with Shahid Pervez for a number of years, Neelam believes that with an
attitude of utmost commitment from employees and management Pakistan's Textile
& Fashion Industry can achieve phenomenal growth and attain highest ranks
in the world. In her view abundance of raw materials, skilled and hard
working manpower combined with low labour and air freight cost gives
an advantage to Pakistani products among the International
competitors. Majority of the exporters in Pakistan, now
have ISO certification which has lead to much improvement
in workers welfare and products quality. Neelam has her own
independent Quality Control team headed by Mr. Guy Martial Noirette based in Pakistan to oversee all aspects of
the Critical path which is a key factor in delivering quality on time. She says that they specialise in Casual and
Jersey wear, which alone constitute such big orders that she does not
feel the need to look in to any other varieties. A huge potential exists for
Pakistani products in the UK and EU. She feels all we need is
exploring markets and keep the quality up to the mark. April 16, 2010 Last updated: 16 April 2010
