Pakistan High Commission’s participation in charity fair of Children and Families Across Borders

 

London: Keeping in line with past tradition of participating in charity events Pakistan High Commission participated in annual fund raising fair of international charity Children and Families Across Border (CFAB).

 

Pakistan High Commission’s stall was set-up at the Fair that took place at Kensington Town Hall Mrs. Zarina Wajid Hasan, wife of Pakistan’s High Commissioner and Chairperson APWA led the group of wives of officers of Pakistan High Commission who had volunteered to manage the staff and remained present on the stall though out the event.

 

Pakistan handicrafts and embroidered garments, shawls, bags and jewellery were highly appreciated and bought by the visitors.

 

The proceeds from the sales have been donated to the CFAB, a charity that is part of an international network that works to ensure that children and families separated by international boarders will enjoy the same degree of projection and rights as families within same country.

 

Speaking on the occasion Mrs. Zarina Wajid Hasan said that people of Pakistan have tradition of contributing generously towards charity and the High Commission and the Pakistani community living here were fully committed to extend help and cooperation to noble causes being persuade by the charities actively working in the UK.

 

CFAB is part of a network of organisation that facilitates international co-operation to resolve inter country social work issues. CFAB has contacts in over 150 countries worldwide.

 

Migration, war and famine, ethnic persecution, divorce and separation, along with changing work patterns, all effect the family structure. Children can become abandoned or abused, orphaned or separated from parents by international boundaries.
