Raga Boyz enthral audience at Musical Evening organized by APWA – UK

 

London: An evening of classical music organized by All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA) UK took place at the Pakistan High Commission London, Yesterday. Internationally recognized music band of Pakistan Raga Boyz entertained the audience with extra ordinary performance of classical, semi classical and pop music.

Raga Boyz are sons of Ustad Hamid Ali Khan of Patiyala Gharana (tradition of music)

Ustad Nayyab Ali and Inam Ali with Ustad Nadir Khan on Tabla enthralled a large gathering of Pakistani and British audience with classical and semi classical pieces mainly from the albums of Ustad Amanat Ali Khan. Sung with great mastery the ghazals kept the audience captivated for couple of hours. Later on joined by their other two brothers Ali Hussain and Wali Hussain the band amused the gathering with their popular numbers including Khimaj.

 

Chairperson APWA- UK Mrs. Zarina Wajid Hasan highlighted  the aims and  objectives of  the  organization and expressed  gratitude  to  members of APWA for organizing  a wonderful evening and appreciated the gathering for  attending the event on a short  notice.  She also lauded the group for their support and performing with excellence difficult compositions and notes keeping in line with the tradition of Patiyala family.

 

Gen Secretary APWA- UK Mrs. Shahida Khan reiterated commitment of the Association for the welfare of women in Pakistan and said that Association will continue to organize cultural events to support its welfare activities here and in Pakistan.   

 

The evening was attended by a large number of members of APWA - UK, diplomat officers of Pakistan High Commission and their families. The attendees paid standing ovation to the group for their superb performance.
